Your story with URE Centro Gutenberg
Tell us how you heard about URE Centro Gutenberg.
After all the failures with IUI and IVF in The Netherlands in the previous almost 4 years, we decided to look around as I didn’t want to give up. Therefore, I searched on Google the best fertility Clinique in Europe and I found URE Centro Gutenberg in Malaga on the first place. Then I read the reviews and also a friend from there confirmed one of her acquaintances over 10 years ago became pregnant at an older age after several trials, thanks to this very Clinique. And in general, I knew Spain was very well known for great and successful Clinique and as Italian I always felt culturally closed so that doctor-patient relationship I missed living in The Netherlands, was also what I was looking for: humans treating other humans, with empathy and care.
After your first appointment with us, what made you choose URE Centro Gutenberg to become a mother?
I liked the professionalism and flexibility of the team and the doctor. Nothing sugar-coated, but still trying to be helpful with all the information I needed, being very careful of how the topic was handled, considering how I was feeling hurt not to have been able to become a mom yet, in the natural way.
Explain to other mothers what doubts you first had regarding assisted reproduction treatment.
I was never really doubting about that as I already tried prior to contacting the URE team, it was more a matter of
“Will this time be different or will this disappoint me again?”
considering how I was feeling broken inside in the previous years. But I decided not to give up and give it one last try and, unbelievably it worked!
What fears did you have? How did you overcome them? How did you feel during treatment…?
That again, it would not have worked and this was my last chance. During my IVF treatment I felt like the team was caring, but also my results were not so good, and the doctor set expectations, also not to delude myself in case of failure, so it was hard.
But the way he was telling me things, was from the heart, and he was taking me seriously. I didn’t receive this care in NL. They were dismissive and treating like a number. So I appreciated the humanity. And also, Isabel, another member of their team: her hopes, her words, who knows how she was so strong in cheering me up like she knew it would have happened!
But all of them I talked with, sorry for not remembering all the names but thanks Nuria and Dr Sanchez, the nurses and receptionists.
What advice would you give to other mothers and couples who are considering fertility treatment?
It is hard, I know that, and all people go through a different and specific emotional rollercoastes on this way full on obstacles and overall very much unfair, but we all have hope. At least, until a certain point. My regret was not to go to URE before and keep going in NL, just cause it was easier to go where I was living, but that was a mistake, I knew I didn’t like many things about how I was treated, therefore my advice is:
Don’t give up, but make fast decision as time is essential, follow your guts and choose the right Clinique for you. You can still keep going naturally, but I would invest this money to give you another, better option.
In my experience URE changed my life, they made a miracle for me, no kidding! Again, I wish I found them years before, it would have spared me a lot of sufferings. I thought about them during my all pregnancy, and I couldn’t wait to tell them when I finally hold my baby in my arms to say THANK YOU!
I am really so grateful, I will never forget the help they gave me.
