Embryoscope + Artificial Intelligence

What is the EmbryoScope?

The EmbryoScope is a new incubator that allows us to observe embryo development from the moment of fertilisation until transfer to the uterus. Observation is made possible with the help of a time lapse system which takes pictures of all the embryos in the incubator.

With this revolutionary technique we obtain a huge amount of information about embryo development, including the detection of possible abnormalities in cell division and development. Also, we optimise embryo culture conditions and the embryo selection process as the embryos don’t need to be moved or handled during observation. All of these factors increase the chances of achieving a pregnancy.

What is the KIDScoreD5 system?

It is an Artificial Intelligence module integrated in our Embryosocope incubator. This system, called “Artificial Intelligence and the KIDScoreD5”, analyses and sorts embryos automatically, increasing the chance of gestation and pregnancy through In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF).

This important innovation assists laboratory specialists in reproductive medicine in embryo selection: using a mathematical algorithm, the artificial intelligence module helps select the embryo with the best chance of success, which is then transferred to the patient’s uterus.

How does the KIDScoreD5 system work?

The KIDScoreD5 system automatically analyses the embryos and ranks them from one to ten, according to their division rate, quality and morphology. The automated embryo selection, compared to manual embryo selection, is more accurate, so the probability of a successful pregnancy is directly related to the percentage score and therefore the patient has a higher chance of success.

What are the main advantages of the KIDScoreD5 system?

  • Automatic selection with less risk of error
  • More information about each embryo and therefore a better chance of choosing the best embryo to be transferred
  • Non-invasive embryo selection technique that improves conventional selection methods
  • KIDScoreD5, by means of a score, distinguishes between those embryos that are more likely to be chromosomally normal (euploid) and those that are not (aneuploid). Depending on the score that the system gives to each embryo, we will know the probability of pregnancy of each embryo and the possibility of having a healthy child at home for each patient
