Nancy tells us her story. “A dream come true, a happy mom”

Today we have a new real‑life patient story for you, the story of a “happy mom” who we had the opportunity to help make her dreams come true. Her name is Nancy, she’s mom to two beautiful babies and she’s here to tell us about her experience with assisted reproduction and our fertility clinic.
Thank you, Nancy! Thank you for your words, your energy and the contagious smile you spread during each visit to our clinic. From the entire URE Centro Gutenberg Team, we want to send an enormous hug back to you!
Next we’d like to share her story with you, just as we received it. Nancy decided to express her appreciation by email, so on this occasion we won’t be using our typical question/answer format in this section. Here it is!

I’m Nancy Gómez, and I wanted to thank each and every one of you for the compassionate and professional care I received from the very first day I walked into the clinic, and also tell you that I’m already enjoying motherhood with my beautiful babies!!!
I arrived to the clinic in hopes of making my dream of becoming a mom a reality, and because I’m single and 40 years old I made the decision to be inseminated and not let those other things keep me from enjoying the incredible experience that is motherhood. I of course wanted to go through this process under the care of the best professionals, so after several recommendations and all your years of experience, I knew for sure that I wanted your clinic to accompany me as I began my journey towards this lovely dream!!!
After a wonderful, fantastic pregnancy, my beautiful babies were born on 10th June 2020 at 36 + 2 weeks. They were in a rush to come out as my water broke at 1:30am, I arrived to the hospital at 3am and my baby boy arrived at 5:14 and my baby girl at 5:16!!!!
It’s impossible to describe with words the first time I heard my babies cry. Obviously I cried, too 😊 tears of joy!!
Even though I dilated very quickly (because I arrived to the hospital 4 cm dilated and within an hour I was 8 cm dilated), I decided to undergo a C‑section as my daughter was in a breech position and I didn’t want to take any risks. Luckily everything turned out wonderfully!!
My son weighed 2.610 kg and was 48 cm long. My daughter weighed 2.040 kg and was 46 cm long. They were both born perfectly healthy, stayed in an incubator the first night to keep warm and on the second day they were back in the room with me where I provided them with warmth and cuddles 😍 👩👧👦
On the third day the three of us went home together. I recovered very quickly and the three of us are doing great!!!
I chose Hawaiian names, as their meanings are both lovely and special. My daughter’s name is Ohana (meaning ‘family’, which is my dream‑come‑true), and my son’s name is Kai (meaning ‘the sea’, which is one of my passions).
I was really looking forward to sharing my excitement and experience with you all, and I wanted to give special thanks to the biologist Rocío Garnica who was always so kind to me. And to Doctor Sánchez, who treated me throughout the entire process. And finally to Juanita in reception who always greeted me with a warm welcome!!
I’ve always been a cheerful woman, but now my smile is even bigger and never‑ending!!!
Thank you to everyone and an enormous hug with all my love from this happy mom!!!
Once everything with Covid has settled down I’ll visit so that you can meet my babies. I hope you’re all doing well and that no one has been directly affected by Covid.
Big hugs!!
Nancy, Ohana and Kai
