Tell us how you found out about URE Centro Gutenberg.
We were searching online for information about egg donation in Spain. We saw that Centro Gutenberg had very good reviews from other patients, which encouraged us to contact the centre.

After your first appointment with us, what made you choose URE Centro Gutenberg?

We had an online appointment with Dr. Álvarez and we thought he was a great professional, so we decided to put ourselves in his hands to fulfil our dream of becoming parents.

Tell other couples what your initial doubts were before undergoing assisted reproduction.
Our first doubt was to find out the success rate of the egg donation procedure at the Gutenberg Centre, which we found quite encouraging.

On the other hand, we wanted to know how the coordination between the parties would work and whether the distance and time difference would make the procedure very difficult. To do this, we just had to follow some clearly defined steps/instructions.

And finally, we decided to find out the satisfaction rate of other patients at the centre, and we saw that the vast majority were very satisfied with the procedure they had undergone.

Did living in another country pose a problem for you in planning your treatment?

Not at all, actually. We imagined it would be much more complicated, but in the end it was much simpler. Whenever we had a question, we could talk to a specialist at the centre.

Furthermore, finding equivalent medication in Australia was not a problem, as most drugs are now sold worldwide.

How did you approach your treatment? Were you excited, worried, afraid, happy…?

We were very excited and hopeful (which is the predominant feeling and the main incentive for undergoing egg donation), and a little afraid that things would go wrong again (as they had in the past). But the desire to be parents always outweighs the fear.

What advice would you give to other mothers and couples who are considering fertility treatment?

This is a very personal matter and any decision is a good one. But if you are sure that you want to be parents and cannot do so in the traditional way, do not hesitate to undergo fertility treatment. Nowadays, many couples undergo fertility treatment in order to become parents.

Now that you have your baby at home, what memories do you have of us?

Very good memories, mainly because thanks to you we are now parents, something we thought we would never be.

If we had to recommend the Gutenberg Centre to someone else going through what we went through, we would do so without hesitation.
