Virginia tells us her story: “A million thank yous for making us so happy”

Oh how we love our Real Stories section! Today we have a new story to add to our collection. It’s a beautiful email message we received some time ago which we’d like to share with you today, with the author’s permission.
Thank you so much, Virginia. It was truly a pleasure to accompany you on your journey, and we are extremely proud to be able to form part of your family. Here’s your story!

Hi, my name is Virginia. I was one of Dr Flores’ patients and I wanted to let you all know that my daughter has come into the world thanks to you.
After several months of uncertainty and not knowing why I wasn’t getting pregnant, my GP told me that it would be easy and quick for my partner to undergo a sperm analysis. That’s when we discovered the problem: 80% of his spermatozoids were immotile. That’s when our world came crashing down around us. You ask yourself, “why us?”, because it’s a problem that affects both members of the couple, and never just one of them.
We were referred to a urologist, but he just told us to take some vitamins which didn’t end up helping. After a year of that, we decided to visit a private clinic where we would be better advised and told what the problem really was.
We looked at many clinics and read everyone’s comments. I have to say that there are no clinics where we live, so we had to go to Malaga (Spain). We decided on URE Centro Gutenberg because people only had good things to say about them. After that, we started to talk about our decision with friends and family, and everyone agreed that it was the best choice, so we didn’t drag our feet and we made our first appointment right away.
At our first fertility consultation we were told that my partner had inflammation in the prostate which caused infections. The first step was to treat the infection, and once he was cured they would recommend undergoing in vitro fertilisation. We didn’t think twice about it and we got started with the whole process. That was in July, and by November I was already pretty far along into my pregnancy!
I’m not going to tell you that the process was easy. Psychologically speaking you ask yourself a thousand questions and you have another thousand doubts, but the team is so kind and compassionate that they answer any question for you at any time during the process. Our trick to getting over our doubts and fears was always to stay united and to remain very positive. That’s the only thing we could do: if there’s a problem you have to find a solution, even more so if you’re hopeful and excited like we were.
If there are couples who find themselves in need of assisted reproduction treatment, don’t think twice about it. Thankfully there are now many ways to make this dream come true. You shouldn’t feel bad about it, or any less of a man or a woman. It seems that this is the order of business these days, and the amazing staff here will make everything much easier!
To everyone going through a similar situation, hang in there! It was easy for us, but it could have been much different. You’re putting yourself into the best hands for something so delicate and long-awaited! Thank you to the whole team for making us so happy! My daughter is one week old today and we feel like the most fortunate people in the whole world.
Say hello to everyone for us, and a million thank yous for making us so happy.
